Welcome to January and the next stage of VividExistence.
The 5 stages of VividExistence are:
Sense Ground Mobilize Harness Express
Ground - to bring
into physical form.
Ground is the 2 nd stage of the VividExistence 5 stage system.
Ground brings the energetic
quality of sense, the 1st stage,
into tangible, physical form. By giving it physical form, we create a
vehicle for energy to eventually be channeled and expressed. In this way,
grounding potentates the energy we become aware of and sensitive to in
Sense.
Here is an example: Suppose you feel a strong sense of compassion
for other's who are suffering. You would call this empathy and you would
likely experience sensations at the body level that tug at your heart
strings. You could continue to experience the empathic sensations with out
acting as a result of them. This would keep you in the realm of sensing.
There is nothing wrong with that. However, since energy happens for a
reason, you will likely want to flow that energy into action. When you
implement an act that contributes to the alleviating of another's
suffering, we could say that you have grounded the impulse created by the
sensation of empathy.
Grounding connects us to earth and her gravitational forces. To
explore the practice of grounding in the body, there is much to be learned
from the Martial arts. Martial Artists know at a profound kinesthetic level
how powerful grounding is. Grounding takes place as your body relaxes and
its chronic tension, which formerly was being used to fight gravity, now
is released as energy for the body to use. You know the sensation of being
"uptight", and how quickly one becomes fatigued by uptightness.
Grounding is the opposite of that feeling.
Grounding exercises:
 1.
You can facilitate your grounding by surrendering yourself to the
gravitational pull of the earth. Simply let your weight sink towards the
earth while maintaining the integrity of your posture.
2. When you intend to be conscious of the roots that extend from
your legs and tailbone into the earth and breathe through these roots, you
will experience the reciprocal relationship of giving and receiving life
force energy available to you from the earth.
Both these very life affirming practices ground and align your
body with the body of earth and remind you that there is really only one
body.

Grounding:
- shifts your consciousness by reminding you of your connection
to earth.
- creates a container within you for energy to be held and
directed.
- helps your body to act as a lightening rod, so excess energy
can flow freely
- protects you from taking on harmful energies.
- helps ensure that you send out only beneficial energies.
- unifies group energy.
When we combine the physical manifesting aspect of
grounding, as in acts of compassion above, with its earth/body
connecting properties, we have a very potent practice that guides
energy one step closer towards its most tangible and effective expression.
When we become skilled at grounding, we can begin to mobilize our
inherent life force, confident that we have a vehicle to channel it
